Marvel Studios hasn’t really adapted many classic storylines yet, as they often mix elements from various comic book issues to bring a fresh story. Although with Phase 4, the MCU seems to be doing more notable arcs, like ‘Secret Invasion’.
‘Armor Wars’ was originally a seven-volume story series written by David Michelinie and Bob Layton and published from late 1987 to early 1988. During the story, Tony Stark discovers that his Iron Man technology has dropped into the hands of heroes and villains, leading to terrible results. It has been confirmed that the TV adaptation will have a similar storyline, although it is certain that Tony Stark is no longer the main character. However, that does not mean that this character will lose his role.
