Zack Snyder recently claimed that Warner Bros. used to give him a hard time during the making of the complete Snyder Cut.
After three years of intense campaigning, Zack Snyder’s version of Justice League is finally a reality. So we can say that Zack Snyder and his fans won. But to do that, he had to pay a huge price. In a new interview with Uproxx, Snyder revealed that even when Warner gave him the green light to complete the Snyder Cut last year, he still felt like he was being harassed by the studio the entire time.
Warner Bros made it difficult for Zack Snyder
“It was great doing the Snyder Cut and it was fun. But Warner Bros. still baffled me the whole time for whatever reason. I don’t know why I’m like a thorn in their eyes.
Honestly… If you analyze what happened between me and Warner Bros., it’s not a normal situation. It’s a unique Warner situation! I just had a meeting with Netflix. We had a great partnership and an incredibly nice experience. So the only thing I want to say to the WB is that it’s an unusual situation.”
The reason behind Warner Bros’s actions
The main problem has always been that Warner Bros. want to copy the success of the MCU. Meanwhile, Zack Snyder is interested in a darker take on DC Comics, and envisions a chapter of five films that will propel the DCEU in new directions. Snyder’s approach resulted in films that deeply divided critics and audiences at large.
“I don’t want to get in trouble either, but I’m not going to sit here and let them do that. Look, they were the ones who did the aggression, not me. I didn’t do anything wrong. Every day they act monstrously. I had a great time doing Justice League, though. I’m so glad I finished it.”
Zack Snyder’s Justice League is currently airing on HBO Max
