In an interview shared with Digital Spy, the Bautista actor reflected on his difficult decision to turn down James Gunn to take on the lead role in Zack Snyder’s new film.
“James Gunn wrote me a role in ‘The Suicide Squad, and I’m super excited, not least because he’s making a huge comeback. It’s because he came back with ‘The Suicide Squad’ and was called back by Marvel, and was actually vindicated for the whole thing that happened.
I was ready for that, and then I got the ‘Army of the Dead’, not only because of the lead role but because I’ve been wanting to work with Zack Snyder for many years.”
