Description

Meet Jonathan Ames: writer, romantic and unlicensed private detective. HBO presents Season One of this comedy series that follows the life of this noir-fiction-obsessed writer (played by Jason Schwartzman of Rushmore fame) who impulsively lists his gumshoe services on the Internet in the wake of a painful breakup. Each episode follows the quirky Jonathan as he is surprisingly hired by an assortment of desperate clients for a variety of amusing cases—which he pursues while avoiding working on his second novel and writing for the magazine run by his eccentric boss George (Ted Danson). Zach Galifianakis (The Hangover) co-stars as Jonathan's droll cartoonist pal Ray.

    I find this show to be very funny. I started watching it on HBO GO online all the way through season 2 and because I enjoyed it so much I decided to purchase season one. This will be one of of those HBO shows that will only get better as time goes on! Enjoy!!

    I think Jonathan Ames is one of the best writers of our time. His writing is funny , heartfelt and original. It's surprising someone as talented as him would write a TV show, but luckily there is a cast of equally talented actors working with him. I'm sure Ted Danson, Jason Schwartzman , and Zach Galifianakis could work with anyone they want to. And I bet they jumped at the chance to work with Ames. I hope this show lasts many seasons, but either way, I will be following anything these guys do in the future as I know it will be good.

    a little differnt, but really funny. if you like entourage, curb your enthusiasm, and eastbound and down you'll enjoy it. Ted Danson is funny as hell too!

    This show is wonderful. I love the chemistry among the lead characters. Ted Danson is awesome - they all are. Glad I stumbled onto it. I just have to wonder why itunes doesn't have HBO and SHO series this season. It's a bummer. It is easier for me to watch this and Dexter on my laptop than compete with my family for the tvs!!

    This show is not funny or sexy. In fact it is really not appealing on any level. By naming the lead character after himself, creator Jonathan Ames seems to be using this series as a way to live out his own personal fantasy of being a handsome private detective. In short, Bored to Death will leave you, well, bored to death.
