Description

The Ax Men are back, and they’re bigger, badder and tougher than ever. For more than a hundred years, larger-than-life characters, many of whom are members of logging families that go back to the time when the West was being settled, have spent their days among towering trees and powerful machines and their nights in outposts far from the comforts of civilization. Snapped cables, runaway logs and treacherous machinery are among the many dangers that threaten their lives and safety today. Going deeper into the forest, high into the sky and even down into the sea, the new season follows two of last season’s leading teams along with three new companies — including a team of diving loggers and another that uses helicopters to maximize its output — as they race to fall the most timber during logging's most dangerous season. A series of fighting mechanical failures, relentless weather and unpredictable terrain ensues — witness in Ax Men how these brave men battle the elements, picking up where their fathers and grandfathers left off, to conquer America’s final frontier.

For the person that complained about heli logging. Heli logging is way more dangerous than any of the other types. it might look pathetic out there on tv but you dont know have about it. You wouldnt last a day out there with them. P.S. i met all the ax men crews. Come to Darby Logger days in Darby Montana. meet em

My boyfriend and I love this show and we have been watching it since it very first began! We have our own tree company and we like to watch the similar problems they have as us! The first season was better than this season we must admit...J.M.Browning and Ryggard are our faves this season. The Aqua Logging guys are just straight hilarious to watch considering how they act.We can't believe he actually makes money off so much stress, cussing, yelling and horrible equipment. He may have a very long way to go to become sucessfull or at least make it for that matter with that type of work. And as for the Heli-Logger....ha, ha! Are you serious? We have not enjoyed even watching him and his company at all. Anyone knows that even ladders do not mix with trees.....so helicopters?!?! Not interesting at all either...We work way harder than them....plus they make tree workers look ridiculous because that is definitely not a smart or even appropriate way to remove trees...You want to see some real tree work? Those guys should shadow with us...they probably wouldn't make it the first day! We climb up in trees all day every day and really know how to take them down and remove them! Aqua logger may have some time left, but the Heli logger has got to go or we just might not be interested the show as a whole anymore..

Not a show where the producers can show much variation. It essentially boils down to: 1. Find the tree. 2. Cut down the tree. 3. Pull the tree up to the landing. 4. Trim and size the tree for transportation. 5. Haul the tree away for use somewhere in the construction industry. Its in the personalities of the loggers where the viewer will find a never ending, often unexpected sense of unpredictability. Similar to "Deadliest Catch" there is zero margin for error or incompetence. In an ever worsening housing market, its easy to see the increased tension this season as the competition has certainly become far more cut-throat than last year. Its also hard not to like most of the loggers, with their "black and white" attitudes and opinions about their fellow workers and the difficulty of the work itself. Pushing their physical abilities to the limit, coupled with the inherent danger of their job makes Ax Men a solid choice..
