Description

Everyone thinks the mothers of “pageant kids” are pushy stage moms who try to live vicariously through their children. In the premiere season of Little Miss Perfect, we meet twelve mothers and daughters whose reasons for competing in beauty pageants are all different. For some, the pageant circuit is just an “ego thing;” for others, it is a chance at a better life — an opportunity for a more secure, better future for the children. Judge for yourself.

I've never been in dance, gymnastics, drama club or pageants but, I do plan on someday trying it out. I feel that having your children learn activites at a younger age is great. I also like how this focus's more on 2 kids vs. the families with multiple kids and then 2 more families.

i love this show so much my favorite episode is Emily vs. Jordan it is a really good show to watch and i love how they focus on two girls and show the story behind the girls. They also interview the girls separately so you can really see how much they truly love it.
  • Better than Toddlers & Tiaras

Each episode of this show depicts a real-life family that touches your heart in different ways. It's not even comparable with Toddlers and Tiaras, which just shows made-up dolls.

Have any of you noticed that the mothers are either ugly or they never got to do pagents or anything like it? It is like the mothers are trying to rewrite their childhood and live it through their daughters.

I purchased Brandijean vs. Ashley and I am so far impressed with the series. I feel that they present a fair depiction of the Pageant world and leave the assumptions up to the viewer. I want to fist say that i though Brandijean's family was truly touching. Her mother was so neurotic but charming and I really felt for when she said she had a poor childhood. On the other hand Ashley's mom was very pretentious and overbearing. You can tell she's raising a brat. I just felt sorry for her son that recieved so little attention during the taping of the show. In general I think that beauty pageant's are not a bad thing and that they can be very encouraging but i think the flase teeth and tans and photoshopped pictures are unnecessary. I think natural beauty should really be emphasized.

These shows, I tend to find fascinating. And I can get that the kid might want to go into the pagent circle for herself, but what these organizations force them to do to win, or why the parents would go along with such standards, is beyond me.
