  • Forces Behind Movements

The most powerful movements were wrought on the streets and campuses of the places shown. Being a child of the 80s I can totally relate. The other reviewers whine about "leftist agenda". They think that the other 85% are not represented. Well I have some news for you, life happened while you were sitting on your couch watching Fox News. I was protesting in the streets.
  • Good but definitely has an angle

Good series so far, but definitely has a strong bias towards journalists and other pop culture figures and their viewpoints. Slacker, Grunge and Reality Bites may define some of us, but those are hardly the ‘voice of a generation’. It leans towards a Seattle or San Francisco viewpoint, and generally ignores most of the rest of the country - let alone places like Houston or Denver. Maybe 20% applies broadly across the generation. And maybe that it’s - does someone born in 1961 really have much in common with someone born in 1981? Two completely different eras to grow up in. I see the second episode continues with that trend. Where’s the ‘crisis of confidence’ speech or the Iran hostages as seminal moments? Definitely shows a particular viewpoint doesn’t it?
