Description

When a young man is confronted with his mortality, he takes a cross-country road trip on a vintage motorcycle. One Week tells the story of Ben Tyler (Joshua Jackson), in his mid-twenties, who flees from the confines of his life and impending marriage, a job he's not entirely happy with and a recent diagnosis--in order to attempt to live more fully. What starts off as an ill-defined venture soon morphs into a quest for the West Coast.

I watched this film on a whim because I'm a fan of Fringe and Joshua Jackson. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I was drawn into the story. It makes you think about how many of us young people are waiting for life to happen but we don't realize that this is IT. Great soundtrack. I loved their approach of putting songs and musicians in the film. The film is also a chance to see Canada's beautiful landscape.

Great movie…thought provoking and emotional. Joshua Jackson is an excellent actor and the backdrop of the Canadian countryside is breathtaking.

I loved this movie. I would compare this one to "The Bucket List". or "50/50", It is a subject matter that hits close to home for many, A young man is diagnosed with cancer, and given a grim prognosis. To cope with this he buys a Motorcycle and takes a cross country trip to find himself, and figure out just what it is he will do. Along the way he meets people, and experiences things that will aide him in his decision to treat the cancer or not. This is one of the best movies that deals with illness that I have seen, If you like this movie please check out "Death of a Superhero, 50/50. and the Bucket list

One might grumble that Ben's journey didn't end with any earthshaking, mindbending, tearjerking epiphanies about life and mortality. Sounds a lot like...life. The screenwriter treats the audience like adults by not tossing us a plump piece of resolution fruit at the end. In fact, he left us wanting to know more. A truly enjoyable movie.

A very well done movie that is moving and makes you really think about your own mortality. A wonderful tour of western Canada and fantastic music. My husband felt the movie was a bit slow at times, but I felt it moved along well with the feeling of the movie. A nice break from the Hollywood fluff.
