Black Lightning

I love this show. It is filled with masterful touches: even minor characters, some without a speaking part, come alive and tell their stories. I loved that this movie shows Russia to be a wonderful place, in this way: a place where people fall in love, make mistakes, and find forgiveness—Russia should never be our enemy, and we must make certain that that never happens again; let us be the kind of country they would want to be friends with. I very much recommend this movie. It is captivating from start to finish.

I would say this is one of the most original movies in russia. I like this movie. It has a protagonist, a villian, a solid plot, etc. the name black lightning is very catchy too. I love it. However, the movie does lack a bit of talent, comedy, and a pinch of "classic" suspence. Overall, this movie is worth the making. I wish i was black lightning myself. Think about it...

Bad!Bad!And...?BAD!!!

Very low budget and not worth 2 hours of my time.

Mind numbingly Boring , bad writing ,bad acting ,bad directing . I rented this from redbox I want my dollar back . Also poorly dubbed . All round a one dimensional movie for idiots and children .

Black Lightning was a very interesting superhero movie, I really enjoyed it. The visuals were great, the story was put together well, and the action was cool. About the action, the action does not carry this movie like a lot of superhero movies might tend to do (or action movies in general), there is a certain element of depth to the movie (despite its simple plot and similarity to Spiderman). This may just be my opinion, but the action scenes felt really short, but I think this is because I'm used to watching action movies where the action/suspense scenes are typically drawn out or simply longer…. I don't know. But, the action scenes did seem short, but that makes sense because what all can you do with a flying car, other than flying around? Nonetheless, the action and "superhero" scenes are pretty cool and fun to watch. The action scenes aren't the only good parts of the movie. I'd recommend watching this movie if you like to watch unique superhero movies.

1000 tuimes better then the Green hornet. this movie is in Russain is so much better. If you dont like subs and had a choice of only this movie and Green hornet i can tell you this much u love this movie and hate the other. I hope that they continue to make great movies like this one and put Hollywood on notice if they do that the crap they are putting has to be beter.....you know what i am talking about who the Bleep wants to see Smurfs in 3d BHAA. come on.

the car in the movie isn't shapely in comparison to batman's, but still it got some charm on it to be a super hero. there're some tweaks and twists with some irrevocable coincidences like many other exciting movies in america - such as underpaying employer as flower shop owner encounter gang member just split second after the hero out of the shop for chasing after for the hero's car's catalyst energy source; one and the only powerful source to full throttle the grinder underground to dig out the diamond vein laying under moscow; also, fall of a full blossom of roses from the car trunk with the note saying from the another guy, although was originally his, but intentionally disguised; when car flies to safeguard his window shopping girl from stabbed by falling icicles and she noticed only the note w/o seeing hero. By the way interesting story to settle your boredom. i personally recommend you for bang for the buck, if you rent.

I enjoyed this movie. It was entertaining to watch a film in a foreign language, something I've wanted to do for a while, and it was certainly better than some Hollywood flicks I've seen. However, as other reveiwers have said, it does borrow quite heavily from Spider-Man and others like it. There was a direct call-back to Iron Man in one scene, and the characterizations might seem cliche to some people. But it was also quite original in many ways- namely the setting and the overall 'feel' of the movie. It's Russian, not American, no matter how similar the basic plot thread is. Now, off of the cultural soapbox, the special effects were very good for its budget. The actors play their parts well if not revolutionary, and there are a number of interesting and amusing subplots to the film. Its pacing seems a bit off in some places, namely way too fast in some of the action sequences (where our movies tend to spend the most amount of their time) and I get the feeling once in a while there's more going on than the subtitles tell me. However, I do not speak Russian and cannot say if this is right or not. Also, there are numerous definaces of the laws of physics and basic reason, which might get your goat if you're really ticky about that sort of thing. There are a few continuity errors. Character's motivations aren't always clear. But as this list of grievances could apply to several other movies I enjoy, I advise not looking too deep into it and just having a good time. Rent it if you feel like it and are willing to read subtitles for an hour and a half or so. (There's another thing- it's not very long. Could be a good thing, could be a bad thing, depending on your point of veiw.) 3.5 stars.
