Broken English

Brilliant performances, a great story and scintillating dialogue. Love it.

Loved this film! I watched on repeat. Yes, it isn't perfect or wildly inventive, but it was romantic in all the right ways.

I was not expecting to like this movie with how high-strung the main character comes off but Julien is a great counter balance. I got goosebumps at times when comparing his French mannerisms to my French ex. I give it a Francophile 5 stars.

I loved reading the reviews for this movie - and I was quite looking forward to renting it. Please could you make it available for rent?

I was a little confused throughout the movie. There were some characters I thought should have been left out or explained who they are, what is their relationship to Nora, and what is their purpose. I think that Julien should have opened up a bit more about his personal life and why he likes Nora. I don't understand why Nora has anxiety attacks. She seems to be depressed most of the movie, deattached and the reason to that is not really exposed. Why when Nora and her friend went to Paris did they bring those packages? I didn't get that part. The ending was really sudden. Overall, I thought it was alright. Not worth buying so the option to rent should be added.

This is a really well done film but I think I feel very similarly as the main character sometimes so it dug deep for me at points. So just watch when you have something fun to do after!

I rarely write reviews, but felt strongly enough about this film that I had to. I didn't like Broken English at all. It made me uncomfortable and left a bad aftertaste in my mouth. I suppose I usually go for beautiful films that allow me to escape life for a bit - this one didn't let me to do that, it was too desperate, dirty, and uncomfortable. In addition, this was my first time seeing Parker Posey act. Though there's a lot of hype about her, I thought her performance was mediocre at best. If you're like me, and you like beautiful films, go for "the Fountain," "Amelie," or the "Three Colors" trilogy.

i've been single on the rollercoaster of dating, a series of ups with many downs. this is the epitamy of what dating is like for me RIGHT now, so I adored it. wish i bought it. parker posey was totally amazing for this roll too!
