Charismatic dot-com entrepreneur Tom Sterling (Josh Hartnett) is scrambling to keep his start-up afloat as the tech bubble bursts in the summer of 2001, while trying to reunite with ex-girlfriend Sarah (Naomie Harris). When his main investor (David Bowie) threatens to takeover, he turns to his estranged brother and company co-founder (Adam Scott) for help. Tom is willing to do whatever it takes to save his start-up, and his lifestyle, before everything falls apart.
