Description

Executive produced by James Cameron, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jackie Chan, The Game Changers follows James Wilks — elite Special Forces trainer and winner of The Ultimate Fighter — whose world is turned upside down when he discovers a group of world-renowned athletes and scientists who prove that everything he had been taught about protein was a lie. Directed by Oscar®-winner Louie Psihoyos, The Game Changers mixes real-time, groundbreaking science with cinematic stories of struggle and triumph. The film features some of the strongest, fastest and toughest athletes on the planet — and it’s backed by them too — with additional EPs including Lewis Hamilton, Novak Djokovic, and Chris Paul. Wilks’ journey exposes outdated myths about food that not only affect human performance, but the health of the entire global population.

All the critics and nay-sayers writing reviews calling this research false have the agenda. Ever heard the saying “strong as an ox”? Where do you think the Ox gets its protein? Not by eating other animals. While there is a very small percentage of humans who need to eat meet due to inabilities to manufacture their protein requirements due to a deficiency, that is not most humans. Animal proteins cause cancer, heart disease, and chronic inflammation in the body. I have been vegan after eating meat for years, due to the heart disease it caused in me. After going vegan I dropped 40 pounds, sleep better, have way more energy (work out 6 days a week including 5 mile up hill runs), and my LDL cholesterol dropped to 62, with the symptoms of heart disease disappearing in mere months. People want to believe they should eat meat because it tastes good and is part of our culture, but meat was hard to come by historically before industrial farming: you had to go find and kill the animal. Once we moved from hunter gatherer to farmer and grew crops, humanity flourished. This isn’t coincidence. I’m not saying one MUST be vegan. But what I am saying is we eat way too much meat as a society and are experiencing the exponential rise in chronic inflammation and disease as a result of this unhealthy addiction, not to mention its catastrophic impact on the environment due to increases in methane and deforestation. Extreme moderation is best if you feel you must eat it, and if you can go vegetarian or vegan, do it. Your body will thank you.

As stated in other reviews, this is just a vegan propaganda film pretending to be a documentary. None of the science checks out (most of the studies cited contradict what the filmmaker claims) and only one side is ever heard. Trying to convert people to veganism with outrageous health claims will back-fire once all the health issues from nutrient deficiencies start to take their toll...
  • Meat eaters are insecure sissies

The claim that some people are making that a plant based diet is not good for you clearly have not tried it. Been meat free for almost 18 years and at 51 years old I’m in better shape than most people my age and much younger. I used to be a big time meat eater and felt so much better after giving it up. No regrets and I don’t miss it. YOU DONT NEED MEAT, but you do need to eat well to stay in shape.

Most claims made by this doc about animal protein especially red meat have been debunked. Quick google search will show that. Carnivore diet; look it up.

Unsurprisingly the reviews I’ve read praise the film blindly, however, if you actually took the time to research the facts you’d realize most of everything that’s claimed in the film is factually untrue. It’s very irresponsible of the film maker when it comes to human health to make these absurd claims about plant protein. Do your research, learn the facts. Wake up.

“Veganism is the sad result of a morally corrupt mind. Reconsider your life.”
