Description

Meryl Streep (IT'S COMPLICATED, DOUBT, MAMMA MIA!) gives an OSCAR®-winning performance as Margaret Thatcher in this surprising and intimate portrait of the first and only female Prime Minster of the United Kingdom. Smashing through the barriers of gender and class, Thatcher is arguably one of the 20th century's most influential women. THE IRON LADY weaves the intricacies of Thatcher's personal life with her policy decisions, focusing on the price that she paid for power.

Absolutely amazing movie about brilliant politician of all times. She was a perfect leader and a person of the country, one that every country could ever dream of. Good things never come easy and one must realize this. Meryl Streep played this role brilliantly and a true winner of the Oscar! A must see movie!

Meryl is just amazing but never such a low character that disgraced the UK history by the actions of Margaret Tatcher and committee. Well deserved the Oscar.

Meryl Streep pulls off a flawless and convincing performance as Margaret Thatcher...no surprise. However, the movie was very boring and difficult to get through. I don't mind biopics if they are well made but this movie was just all over the place. I fell asleep twice and when I finished it the next day, it felt like hours had gone by. Streep is a great actress but this was not a good film. I wish she could have won the oscar for another movie instead.

Meryl Streep's exceptional performance saves this film from being totally boring.

This movie delves into a unique perspective that most story tellers don't explore when portraying historical celebrities. Dementia is a common problem most families have to deal with but don't like to admit, and Meryl Streep's performance is top-notch. Through this story we connect with Margaret Thatcher on a humanistic level and see the challenges of her time socially, politically, and within her family.

This movie was depressing. I was hoping for a celebration and all I got was a depression. I was really sad to watch…SPOILER ALERT…a personality like Mrs. Thatcher mentally going down the drain. Her dementia may have been important to understand why she didn't continue her political career but I think this movie concentrates way too much on her post-political life mental state than what this great woman has actually achieved for Britain and the rest of the world (without her support for Ronald Reagan's policy, the cold war wouldn't have ended that soon). I wanted to watch her greatest moments in this movie and I did but….AGAIN SPOILER ALERT…every time I felt good about her actions, the flashback ended and there wasn't Mrs. Thatcher the hero again but Mrs. Thatcher, the dementia patient. This movie is too sad, even if her (Mrs. Thatcher) dementia was real. She deserved something different, something which would let us remember her like we love to remember her. Strong, independent, witty and clever.

not a very involving movie. I was under the impersion that I would see more of her road to the PM. Instead it's about a semi crazy lady that used to be in a powerful possition. very sad and dull movie. Good acting lousy script
