So, that's kinda coincidental. I just watched this film on the same day as the other reviewer, Macintosh, on March 11, 2020. He/She hated it; thought it was blantantly racist, with an agenda catering to the filmmaker's tastes. Is this film degenerate? Yes, you could argue it is. Is it racist? C'mon, man. You are making it racist by saying so; you are fulfilling your own opinion on the subject. That subject, my friends, is adultery. Not a shock, given the film's title. Has it religious bent? Yes and no. It all builds up in tension, like a high wire act crossing the rubicon. The acting is superb and delicious to watch. Their emotions are right there laid bare for us to see. The film creeps in and creeps you out. Tension is enhanced since 95% of the film is shot in a bedroom in a LA summer and seemingly no A/C. I thought I was going to be repulsed by it. Was I? Yes, but only to an extent. I found myself saying and thinking exactly what these 3 characters are thinking and doing. In that regard, it held my interest beyond what I normally would put up with for 90 minutes. In the end, the subject and subjects were too darn compelling for me to look away. I have no doubt that the situation portrayed in this film has happened more than a few times in this world. Even the intro says it is based on a true story. I believe it.
