Dark Horse Comics’ popular Lady Killer series will be adapted by Netflix and Blake Lively has confirmed to star in the film.
Netflix has cast Blake Lively as the lead and co-producer with Oscar winner Diablo Cody, in its adaptation of Lady Killer, based on the Dark Horse Comic series.
Blake Lively will play Josie Schuller, a housewife but deep inside is a well-trained hired killer to complete international missions.
Most recently, Diablo Cody wrote the script for the upcoming Madonna biopic at Universal, which Madonna will direct. Cody is represented by WME, MXN Entertainment and McKuin Frankel.
Lady Killer is a comic book series written by Joëlle Jones and Jamie S. Rich, illustrated by Joëlle Jones and colored by Laura Allred. It has been published by Dark Horse Comics since January 2015 and was nominated at the Eisner Awards as Best Series in 2016.
Netflix has its first deal with Dark Horse Entertainment and has previously partnered with Dark Horse on the action-comedy series Umbrella Academy and Polar directed by Jonas Åkerlund. So, with a solid foundation from the producer and the names involved in the film, fans promise to have a quality masterpiece to enjoy in the future!
