hard coded subtitles that cannot be turned off. I complained at apple support but they don't know what to do. tim cook should consider that there are non-US people in the world instead of just talking about diversity. show is great 4.5/5. also apple tv stutters sometimes during playback lol.

Fantastic writing and wonderful plot. I hope Deutschland 86 has been green lit. I want to know more about these characters. My favorite bing watch of 2015.

I really hope this program gets carried for another season! It was thrilling and interesting with many surprises. It's nice to see a good German show. I hope people appreciate the the accuracy and creativity of the writing. Can't wait to see what another season would look like!

Frustrated because I love this show, got to episode 8 and then nothing. It didn't seem like a season ending episode or finale but it's been weeks since the last episode was available for download. I wish iTunes would give us a clue - how many episodes are you buying for a "season" - so frustrating. Just waiting to see what will happen next,

Refreshing, well written, well cast, a must see!

This is probably the best TV show coming out of Germany for decades (perhaps going back to "Das Boot"). Having lived in West Germany at the time, I can vouch for the authenticity of the show. While the characters are of course fictional, the show captures the zeitgeist of the era very well, while at the same time developing a gripping story with interesting characters. Even the music is great (including a number of "Neue Deutsche Welle" songs that I haven't heard in ages). The only little downside of the iTunes version is that you cannot turn off the subtitles.

Oh, mein Gott! I love, love, love it. I am of that era, I lived in West Berlin as a student. I remember all that nuclear stuff, people creeping around the wall, the onset of AIDS, all the songs. And I remember the dogs sniffing under the train, as it crossed the borders. And I really appreciate the excellence of this show. The characters are well drawn, the events are believable. Thanks so much to all those who are part of it. And I love hearing German again, and relearning some of my forgotten skills. Vielen, vielen Dank an alle!!!!!!

I showed it to some friends in Germany and they love it. It’s really authentically presented.
