Description

NYPD Detectives Christopher Danson and P.K. Highsmith (Dwayne Johnson and Samuel L. Jackson) are the baddest and most beloved cops in New York City. They don't get tattoos – other men get tattoos of them. Two desks over and one back, sit Detectives Allen Gamble (Will Ferrell) and Terry Hoitz (Mark Wahlberg). You've seen them in the background of photos of Danson and Highsmith, out of focus and eyes closed. They're not heroes – they're "the Other Guys. "But every cop has his or her day and soon Gamble and Hoitz stumble into a seemingly innocuous case no other detective wants to touch that could turn into New York City's biggest crime. It's the opportunity of their lives, but do these guys have the right stuff? Columbia Pictures' ensemble action comedy The Other Guys stars Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, Eva Mendes, Michael Keaton, Steve Coogan, Ray Stevenson, with Samuel L. Jackson and Dwayne Johnson. Directed by Adam McKay and written by Adam McKay & Chris Henchy, the producers are Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, Jimmy Miller, and Patrick Crowley.

A fun journey, two guys who have reached their Level of ineptness, and could have remained There, but god moves in mysterious way, and Gives the other guys a lot of help, to find the fulfillment of their dreams.

This movie was pretty good. Some funny parts. It was just a all around good movie. Prefect pick of actors and all. Worth a rent.
  • A fun but hallirious buddy cop movie

Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell make a great buddy cop duo as they take down the most evil drug lords and villians out there. The Other Guys is entertaining as heck and that's not enough Mark Wahlberg is amazing.

I just have a question why is it missing key parts of the movie? The art exhibit isn’t in there and other scene are cut and it isn’t in the deleted scene either.

This version has a couple of scenes cut. Particularly the coffee table art auction scene, which is hilarious. Would be 5 stars if it was clear this was an edited version.
  • Ferrell is a CounterComedian

I think I figured out Will Ferrell. He's such an amazing actor that he can truly make you believe that he's a not-funny comedian delivering not-funny lines that are so not-funny that it's ironic, which makes you laugh, because he's such an amazing actor to pull all that off. Mark Wahlberg spends most of the movie in so awe of Ferrell's ability as an actor to pull off this ironic twist, that he forgets that his lines are supposed to be the straight-man's lines, so instead his lines come off funny. Yes, the whole movie is a psychological reverse-twist thriller filled with comedic double axels on ice. They save the actual joke for after the credits, when a deleted scene appears. Now THAT was funny. And the statistics they rattle off about white collar crime DURING the credits will make you howl. Not funny; painful. They had my attention from the moment that Eva Mendes stepped in front of the camera with boobs palpitating. It doesn't get any better than that, and it didn't get any better than that. But at least we have that. I give it 5 stars for being so incredibly ironic and twisted that I can't remember why it was not funny! Forget my review. Just watch it. I'll be laughing that they took your money, too!
