Description

The Wolfpack is a coming of age story following the six Angulo brothers who have spent their entire lives locked away from society in an apartment on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. All they know of the outside world is gleaned from the films they watch obsessively and recreate meticulously, using elaborate homemade props and costumes. For years this has served as a productive way to stave off loneliness – but when one of the brothers escapes, everything changes.

This is a very disturbing video from many perspectives. It's a sad story of parenting. It's somewhat unbelievable that that many people could live in those small quarters for that period of time. It's disgusting that our tax money is used to support that lazy situation. Where did the money come from to buy all the seemingly nice clothes the boys wore when they did go out? The father admittedly didn't work and didn't want to work and that's shameful if true. I was impressed with the creativity of the boys. I wonder if the video is a sham. True or not it depicts a terrible story of irresponsibility!

This is an interesting story; frustrating to watch given the emotional and psychological hardship the kids face. It is very long and drawn out and unfortunately turned it off about 45 minutes.

A lot slower than I expected. Great story and interesting family but the actual story of the film being made is so cool and noticeably absent from the film...like how the film maker found this family. Boring but good. Capeesh?

Yes, the story of their lives is fascinating. This movie is not. Far from it. It took everything in me not to turn it off in 10 minutes. I couldn't make it past 45 minutes. Waste of $6.99.

A little disappointing as the doc didn't go deeper than the articles I've read about it. I wanted to like it more than I did. I thought the topic was fascinating and I am close to others who lived similar sheltered lives. The rental price is also too steep.

this movie belongs to those who not only love films but who love films deeply enough to be changed by them, i love this film because i , myself deeply feel connected with movies as they did , i get it , i get the sentiment the director tried to share , the improvised life the angulo brothers lived , born and raised by a their father through fear and isolation , and enlightend by their mother through love , and set free by the magic of movies , not through the movies they acted out but by the concept of magic it brought to them ,inspiring , full of humility and improvisation like real life is meant to be , sometimes you don't know where you stand but the heart can never be tamed.

the story of these brothers is definitely so strange and there are a lot of things that the viewer may assume disturbing, but the way the documentary was executed was fantastically balanced in a way that it showed so much truth and rawness of the subjects, but also never came to any definite conclusions or judgements- i think that’s what makes a documentary great. that balance of getting good footage and having an interesting subject, but also not giving into the entertainment aspect and letting the truth tell it’s own story.

This film is beyond belief. I found the family members to be very strange especially the parents. What a pathetic existence for the children of two unstable parents. What I could not understand is if the parents were so protective of their children from the outside world's ills, why were they permitted to watch violent films like Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs? And then act them out? A very bizarre family, for the children, through no fault of their own.
